Work is progressing steadily on the Calibishie sub-project, one of the key components of the Water Sector Strategic Development Project (WSSDP). The project, which is part of Dominica’s broader efforts to enhance national water infrastructure, continues to make meaningful strides in both construction and system upgrades.
Key Milestones Achieved
To date, the following achievements have been made on-site:
- Over 10,000 feet of pipeline have been successfully installed
- The access road to the intake site has been fully constructed
- The DOMLEC power supply extension to the proposed pump station is nearing completion
These works mark significant progress in improving water service reliability and access for residents in the Calibishie community.
Next Steps
The next phase of the project will include:
- Construction of a glass-fused-to-steel water storage tank
- A major upgrade to the current intake system
- Building of a new pump station to support efficient water distribution
These improvements are designed to strengthen the local water supply network and improve long-term resilience in the face of climate-related challenges.
