Once again the Atlantic Hurricane Season is upon us. The season officially starts on June 1 and ends on November 30. Although the formation of tropical cyclones is possible at any time, these dates indicate the period of each year when most tropical cyclones, commonly known in Dominica as hurricanes, form in the Atlantic basin.
We also need to be aware that due to our island's topography, heavy rains due to unstable weather conditions may also result in dangerous situations; such as land slides and flash floods. Hurricane Preparedness is therefore extremely important for everyone during this season and DOWASCO would like to share several tips and important information so that we may all be properly prepared in the event of an emergency.
The links below will provide you with several tips and Hurricane Preparedness information.
